Italy, a country situated in the southern part of Europe is famous all over the world for its people, places, history and culture. As Italy is a land of varied physical features, the climate of the entire country can not be categorized into a single type. The cities of Northern Italy like Milan, Verona, Bologna and Venice are best visited during spring. The weather in these cities during the winter months are mild and fogy, at times. Summers in these regions become intolerably hot and humid, though the atmosphere is moderated by the breeze from the sea. During winters, Venice is often draped in mists, during early morning, creating an aura of mystery. Autumn and spring, therefore are the best time to visit northern Italy.



Situates along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, the southern cities of Italy are best visited during the months of September till December. Having a typically Mediterranean climate these places have a very hot and humid summer. These places thus are best visited during the winter and spring months.

The cities of extreme north like Breil Cervinia and Cour mayeur have frigid weathers during the winter months. But if you are an adventurous person interested in skiing, the best time to visit these hill stations is during the winter months. The skiing season lasts from December to April.

In spite of the hot summer weather, the best time to visit Italy is during the summer months. The tourism industry is at its peak during these months. But if you want to avoid crowd and have a peaceful holiday, the best time to visit Italy will be during late spring and early autumn.
